Mankato Bicyclist Hit By Mack Truck, Hospitalized

(Elysian, MN) – A 62-year-old man from Mankato is hospitalized after being hit by a truck while out bicycling Thursday afternoon.

The State Patrol says Paul Curtis Matson was eastbound on Highway 60 near Elysian when he was struck from behind by a Mack utility truck. Matson was taken to the MCHS Hospital in Mankato. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The truck driver, 46-year-old Michael Todd Lehman of Faribault, was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were the Minnesota DNR, Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Elysian Fire Rescue & Waterville Police Department. The State Patrol continues to investigate.
