MANKATO: Nelson to be sentenced today in Kolstad case

The former Gophers and Mankato West Football player is set to be sentenced in court today. 21-year-old Philip Nelson took a plea deal and was convicted of a 5th-degree charge inflicting or attempting bodily harm. Nelson and 21-year-old Trevor Shelley were arrested last year for assaulting former MSU football player Isaac Kolstad. Kolstad continues to be on the road to recovering after a severe brain injury from the assault.
