Maverick men’s cross country team ranks fourth in preseason poll

 The Minnesota State men’s cross country team has been selected to finish fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Mavericks claimed the spot with a total of 116 points. Augustana College took the top spot in the poll with 12 of the possible 13 first place votes and 144 points.

Mankato’s runner to watch this year is senior Matthew Longen, who finished a strong 19th at the NSIC Championships last season. MSU will open their season on the road at the Augie Twilight meet in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Friday, September 4.
