(Redwood Falls, MN) – A 20-year-old man wanted in connection with a stabbing in Redwood Falls has been arrested in Texas and is now jailed awaiting extradition back to Minnesota.

Redwood Falls police say they obtained information that Javen Michael Ahrens was staying at a residence in San Juan and forwarded those details to agents with the U.S. Marshals Service and San Juan police, who were able to take him into custody without incident.

Ahrens is charged with a felony count of Assault in the 2nd Degree and a misdemeanor count of Assault in the 5th Degree for a stabbing on July 6th at the Westfalls Townhomes.

It’s alleged that Ahrens hit a man and then held him on the ground and stabbed him eight times. The suspected weapon and other evidence has been recovered by Redwood Falls police.
