Tim Auringer Appointed Eagle Lake Mayor

(Eagle Lake, MN) – At a Special City Council meeting on Monday night, Eagle Lake Mayor Pro Tem John Ries and the City Council appointed Tim Auringer to serve the remainder of former Mayor Brianna Anderson’s term, which is set to expire 12/31/18.  The Mayor’s seat will be included on the ballot in November.

After being sworn in and taking the Oath of Office, Mayor Tim Auringer addressed the City Council and audience to say that he has no agenda other than to see positive things happen in Eagle Lake, and that he looks forward to working with residents on issues. Auringer had served as Mayor for more than a decade before losing to Anderson in 2016.

Anderson stepped down as of February 5th after moving out of Eagle Lake to a new home near Mapleton. “My family found an opportunity to move into the country on acreage with a beautiful home and with great struggle we knew that we could not pass up this amazing chance,” said Anderson. “I am so grateful for the time I had to serve as Mayor, a learning honor I will forever be thankful for.”
