1 person dead, more injured, in Saturday morning Austin shooting
An early Saturday morning shooting at a northeast Austin residence claimed the life of a man and injured others.
Austin police responded at 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning to a residence on the 100 block of 12th St. NE for a call involving a shooting with multiple victims.
Responding officers found a male gunshot victim. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, Austin Police Captain Todd Clennon said in a news release. Clennon said officers also learned more victims had been shot.
Clennon said it appears the shooting was a targeted incident, and that there is no threat to public safety.
The male victim will be identified pending autopsy results and family notification.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will assist with the ongoing investigation.
