3 Missouri residents killed in car vs semi crash in Kandiyohi County

Three Missouri residents were killed last week in a car vs semi crash in Kandiyohi County that also left another person seriously injured.

The crash happened Thursday just before 6 p.m. when a Lexus SUV and a semi collided at the intersection of Highway 40 and Co Rd 7 in St. John’s Township.

The Lexus, which was northbound on Co Rd 7, was driven by Justin Ecker, 41, of Lee Summit, MO.  Ecker and two of his three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The state patrol identified the other victims as Carol Catherine Ecker, 64, of Kansas City, MO, and Jonathan Ecker, 39, of Rosendale, MO.  A fourth passenger, Jennifer Michelle McGinness, 35, of Elmo, MO, was transported to a St. Cloud hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Carol Ecker and McGinness were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the patrol.

The truck driver, Ralph John Enderle, 57, of Raymond, was transported to Rice Memorial Willmar with non-life threatening injuries.
