Amboy child molester sentenced to decades in prison
(Mankato, MN) – An Amboy child molester has received a lengthy prison sentence.
Chad Edward Danberry, 42, was sentenced in Blue Earth County Court Tuesday on four counts of felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He was found guilty by a jury in April.
Blue Earth County Circuit Court Judge Mark Betters sentenced Danberry to 30 years in the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for the first charge. He received a 12-year sentence for each of the remaining three charges.
Danberry will be required to serve two-thirds of his 66-year sentence – at least 44 years. He’ll also serve one-third of his total prison time – at least 22 years – on supervised release when he completes his confinement. He must also adhere to his release conditions for 99 years after his sentence is complete.
In March 2018, the victim approached police and told them Danberry had been abusing her since the first or second grade. The girl said she was forced into multiple sex acts by Danberry until her family moved away from him in 2016. The victim said Danberry threatened to kill her family if she said anything about the abuse.
Danberry has a long history of crime and violence. He has two convictions (2008 & 2016) for being a predatory offender that violated his registration requirements. He’s also been convicted of domestic assault, burglary, criminal sexual conduct, fleeing police, and motor vehicle theft.
