(St. Paul, MN) – The city of Arlington was one of three Minnesota communities awarded grants from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for infrastructure projects.

Arlington will get $94,625 to assist with the water and sewer extensions necessary for the Ninkasi Hops, Inc. growing and processing facility.

Ninkasi Hops is a hydroponics company that plans to develop an indoor growing facility to grow hops for craft breweries.  The Arlington Economic Development Authority voted in July to support a proposal by the company’s CEO to locate to Arlington.

Becker and Hendricks were also awarded grants for local projects to the tune of $1,789,150 and $153,500, respectively.

The facility is expected to create 12 jobs.
