Austin man sentenced to jail time, supervised probation on felony drug possession and arson charges in Mower County District Court
An Austin man who sold 27.07 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on October 7th, 2020, and who also set fire to a cardboard box in a hallway at the Days Inn of Austin on November 6th, 2021 has been sentenced to jail time and supervised probation in Mower County District Court.
46-year old Jesus Manuel Camacho was convicted and sentenced Friday to 289 days in jail, plus five years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 2nd degree drugs, possession of 25 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine. Camacho was given credit for 289 days already served, and a 48-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Camacho complies with the 16 different conditions of his probation. Camacho was also convicted and sentenced Friday to 289 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for a felony charge of 2nd degree arson, building value $1,000 or more. Camacho was given credit for 289 days already served, and a 23-month prison sentence was stayed for five years if Camacho complies with the 17 different terms of his probation.
A felony charge of 1st degree arson, knowns person is present in building against Camacho in the case was dismissed with his guilty plea, and Camacho pleaded guilty to both charges against him on September 8th, 2022.
