Blue Earth County Sheriff unveils new patrol vehicle design

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has unveiled its new patrol vehicle design.

A press release says the “modern design changes the long-standing brown color to black with the addition of a flag and the word Sheriff outlined in blue.”

There are currently two vehicles with the new design out on patrol, but two additional SUVs will arrive this summer.  The release says the sheriff’s office intends to continue using a fleet of primarily SUVs.

“Our office is excited to have a fresh look on the sheriff’s office patrol vehicles moving forward,” said Sheriff Jeff Wersal.  “I’m hoping the new look will catch people’s attention and our presence will be noticed in the community.”

Black and brown squads will be patrolling during the transition period.  About four to six quad cars are typically replaced per year.  The full transition to the new design will take about four years.
