COVID Tuesday: 6 deaths; more than 3,800 new infections

State health officials reported another six deaths caused by the coronavirus Tuesday, along with 3,882 new infections.

Tuesday’s report includes data from Saturday and Sunday.

The Minnesota Department of Health says the deaths came from Dakota, Hennepin, Rice, and Stearns counties.  Four of those deaths came from a private residence, while two involved victims in long-term care or assisted living.  Four deaths involved patients in their 80’s; the others were in their 60’s and 70’s. Minnesota’s death toll is now at 7,811.

Hospitalizations are at 589, says MDH, which includes 164 intensive care unit patients.

MDH reports another 3,882 new cases, including 59 new infections in Blue Earth County, 47 in Freeborn County, and 35 in Waseca County.
