Washington woman dead, another critically injured in crash east of Gaylord

A Washington woman died and another woman was critically injured when a semi and an SUV collided in Sibley County Tuesday afternoon.

Killed in the crash was Ubah Mohammed Osman, 33, from Seatac, WA.

Osman’s passenger, 31-year-old Zamzam Abdi Hassan, of North Mankato, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

The crash happened just after 12 p.m. in Dryden Township, east of Gaylord.

The state patrol says a semi, westbound on Highway 19, and a Chevy Suburban southbound on Sibley Co Rd 13, collided in the intersection.

Travis Brandon Engfer, 47, of Litchfield, was driving the semi.  He was not injured.

Osman was behind the wheel of the Suburban, according to the patrol’s report.  It’s unknown whether she or her passenger were wearing seat belts.

A patrol report says roads were icy at the time of the crash.
