Death investigation underway in McLeod County

A call for a welfare check led to the discovery of a deceased person in Plato, says the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the early morning welfare call Friday, and during the investigation found a deceased person, according to a press release.
A preliminary autopsy is pending with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s office.
A name and cause of death will be released pending the autopsy and notification of family members.
