A Delavan couple was critically injured in a crash north of Mapleton Sunday morning.

Glenn Levern Pettit, 85, and Gladys Marlene Pettit, 83, were both transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries following the crash, which happened just before 9 a.m. on Highway 22.

A crash report says the Pettit van was southbound on Highway 22, and a Mitsubishi Lancer, a Chevy Equinox, and a Chrysler 300 were northbound when the four vehicles collided near 134th Ave.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Tara Marie Geisthardt, 43, of Mapleton, was driving the Lancer. The Equinox driver was identified as Erika Rae Abdo, 19, of Minnesota Lake.  Both women were transported to Mayo Clinic Mankato with non-life threatening injuries.

The Chrysler driver, 47-year-old Jenny Elizabeth Krosscehll, of Wells, wasn’t injured.

Alcohol did not play a role in the crash, according to the patrol report.   Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
