A Wells man was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon southeast of Good Thunder.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Blue Earth Co Rd 39 and 148th St.

Nathan Edward Williams, 30,  was eastbound on 148th St when his Pontiac Bonneville collided with a Jeep Wrangler that was southbound on Co Rd 39, according to a release from the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders arrived to find Williams with critical injuries. Life-saving efforts were performed, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was the sole occupant of his vehicle.

The Jeep driver, 38-year-old Patrick Jay Thorson of Amboy, and his passengers – three girls, ages 8,9, and 10 – all suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated and released at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
