Faribault teen critically injured in single-vehicle crash

A  teen was critically injured Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash north of Faribault.

Andrew James Caron, 16, of Faribault, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following the crash, which happened just before 3:30 p.m. on I-35 in Forest Township.

A state patrol crash report says Caron was northbound on I-35 at Millersburg Blvd when his Ford pickup collided with a bridge post.

Roads were dry at the time of the crash, according to the report.  It’s unknown whether or not Caron was wearing a seat belt, but alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the patrol.
