(New Ulm, MN) – A fire late Sunday morning that destroyed a building on a rural Brown County farm is under investigation.

The Brown County Sheriff’s office said they responded with the Sleepy Eye Fire Department at 11:39 a.m. to a structure fire at a farm in rural Comfrey.

An outbuilding and straw was lost in the blaze, which started on a property southeast of Sleepy Eye and owned by Cook Family Farms, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators believe that one or more people started the grass fire that spread to the building that was destroyed.
