Police Increase on Hwy 22, Due to Barricade Busters

(Mapleton, MN) – Police in Mapleton are warning motorists to stay off of Highway 22 going north out of Mapleton or risk getting a ticket.

Police say that section of Highway 22 is still a closed roadway, so people should be using the detour, but Mathiowetz Construction has reported that many vehicles are driving around the barricade and onto the road.

Because of those going around the barricade, officers will be stepping up enforcement on the north end of Mapleton at the “Road Closed” sign and motorists will be cited if they are driving on the closed roadway.
