Hockey Day in Mankato postponed until 2022

(Mankato, MN) – It’s like a slapshot to the face.

Hockey Day Minnesota 2021 in Mankato has been postponed due to COVID-19.

Local hockey enthusiasts were ecstatic earlier this year when Mankato was slated to host the annual hockey celebration in 2021.  But Wednesday, the Minnesota Wild and Fox North Sports announced that Mankato would instead host the event in 2022.

Hockey Day will still go on in 2021, but it will look different.  Details about the date and the format will be announced at a later date, according to a press release from the Wild and Fox.

Hockey Day Minnesota originated in 2007.  This would have been the first time Mankato has hosted the event.
