Lightning strike causes fire at Mankato apartment building

(Mankato, MN) – Mankato Public Safety says they responded to a fire caused by a lightning strike Saturday after severe storms rolled through the area.
According to a release, the fire crews responded to 200 Willard St at 5:53 p.m., where a fire had started in the attic.
No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at about $15,000.
