(Lake Crystal, MN) – A Lake Crystal artist is without her livelihood after her vehicle filled with her artwork was stolen.

Malia Wiley of rural Lake Crystal, was asleep her home last Saturday when her minivan was stolen from her driveway.

Wiley’s van contained her setup items, such as tables, for fairs and festivals.  Those items – and the van – can be replaced, but the original paintings and prints that were in the vehicle was her inventory for her future shows.  The vehicle is about 12 years old, so it wasn’t fully covered by insurance.

Many in the area are likely familiar with some of Wiley’s work.  She painted the mural at the Children’s Museum in Mankato, and has prints for sale at Salvage Sisters.  A friend started a Go Fund Me page to help Wiley recover her losses.
