Man Accused of Exposing Self, Groping Woman at State Fair

(Falcon Heights, MN) – A 62-year-old man with a long criminal history of similar incidents is accused of exposing himself and groping a woman at the Minnesota State Fair.

Jeffery Pendzimas of Isanti is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct for the incident at the fairgrounds on Monday afternoon.

According to the complaint, a woman was watching chickens hatch at the CHS Miracle of Birth Center with her son and nephew, around ages 2 and 4, when she felt a hand reach into her shorts and squeeze her butt cheek. The woman turned around thinking it was an accident, but Pendzimas then allegedly lifted his shirt and exposed his penis, which he was actively stroking.

The woman covered the eyes of her son and nephew and screamed at the top of her lungs and Pendzimas fled. Other fairgoers gave chase and Pendzimas was detained after he ran into the Coliseum.  The officer brought Pendzimas to the woman for positive identification and she said “Yes, that is the sick (expletive) that showed me his small penis.”

Under questioning, Pendzimas denied groping the woman or exposing himself.

Police say his criminal history includes 7 previous convictions for indecent exposure, along with criminal sexual conduct and interference with the privacy of a minor. In one case, he masturbated in the presence of two teenage girls. In another, he used a watch with a camera to take video up the skirts of females, including a minor, at a department store.

Pendzimas is due to make his first appearance in Ramsey County Court this afternoon (Wednesday 1:20).
