A woman is dead and a man in jail after a crash between a golf cart and a pickup truck in Rice County.

Megan R. Graham, 40, of Faribault, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on the 22000 block of Glynview Trail.

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle off-road and arrived on the scene to find a truck in the ditch. Graham was discovered unresponsive along with a heavily damaged golf cart. First responders attempted life-saving measures on Graham, but she was pronounced dead at 1:09 a.m.

The driver of the pickup, Orville Knott, 55, was not at the scene.  He was later located at his home in Faribault.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the golf cart and truck were both northbound on Glynview Trail (Co Rd 19) when the pickup rear-ended the golf cart driven by Graham.

The Rice County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate, along with the Minnesota State Patrol
