Man in custody after Waseca standoff

(Waseca, MN) – Police say a standoff in Waseca ended with the arrest of a man Monday evening.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, police were called to the 500 block of 7th Ave SE at 6:25 p.m. to a report of a man at the residence with a gun.  Other members in the household were able to leave the residence, according to police.

Police asked the nearby residents to “shelter in area” and keep clear of the vicinity as multiple departments arrived to assist.  The Le Sueur County SWAT team, New Richland, and Janesville police departments were all on scene.

“One person is in custody,” said a later update on Facebook.  Police said the investigation is ongoing and active and more information will be released when available.
