Man injured in crash with semi near Amboy

A man was injured Tuesday when a semi collided with his vehicle near Amboy.

According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol, the Freightliner semi was northbound on Highway 169, attempting to turn east onto Highway 30 when it collided with a Chevy Suburban that was stopped at the intersection facing westbound.

The SUV driver, Juan Ruiz Garcia, 47, of Amboy, was transported to Mayo Clinic Mankato for treatment of believed non-life threatening injuries.  The semi driver, Delwin George Smith, 61, of Vernon Center, wasn’t injured, according to the report.

The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m.
