Mankato City Council approves free admission to Tourtellotte Pool, new patio occupancy rules

The Mankato City Council voted Monday to offer free admission to the Tourtellotte Pool for the 2021 season.

The council voted 5-2 for the proposal, but decided against expanding the pool hours into the nighttime.  Eliminating the $2.50 entrance fee will cost the city an estimated $16,000 in revenue.

The Council also approved new occupancy rules that would allow restaurants and bars to maintain separate occupancy limits for indoor and outdoor seating.  The council recommends that businesses have a safe exit plan for outdoor patrons.
