Mayo, Mankato Clinic establish COVID-19 drive-thru testing

(Mankato, MN) – Mayo Clinic and Mankato Clinic have opened drive-thru coronavirus testing locations available to people who have been pre-screened.

Mankato Clinic has set up a hotline for anyone concerned that they are infected.  Patients with symptoms should first call the hotline at (507) 389-8548 prior to coming to the clinic.  A Mankato Clinic nurse will guide the caller through the COVID-19 screening process.  If testing criteria are met, the call will be directed to a drive-thru location. Using the drive-thru will not be permitted unless a phone screening has been completed by a nurse.

Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato also has a drive-through screening process for patients who meet the criteria for COVID-19 testing.  Patients must first call their Mayo Clinic Health System primary care clinic.  A provider or nurse will determine if patients meet criteria for a drive-thru test.  Tests will not be offered to people who have not been pre-screened over the phone.

The Center of Disease Control says the main symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
