(Mankato, MN) – The City of Mankato had declared a snow emergency starting at 8 p.m. tonight, effective until 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.

During a snow emergency, parking is not allowed on streets so that snow can be quickly and efficiently removed.  The only exception is on streets where “seasonal no parking” is posted.

Temporary parking is available at no cost in the Mankato Place and Civic Center Parking ramps during snow emergencies.  Parking is also allowed in yards during a snow emergency.  Anyone not moving their vehicle is subject to a $25 ticket and a towing fee of $118.66.
