One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 60 in Le Sueur County early Sunday morning.

Steven Lee Roemhildt, 54, of Mankato was killed in the crash, which happened around 12:30 a.m. in Elysian Township.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the Roemhildt was driving a Chevy Impala westbound on Highway 60, while a Ford Taurus driven by Jacob Edward Smith, 21, of Lakeville, was eastbound when the vehicles collided.

Smith was transported to St. Mary’s in Rochester with non-life threatening injuries.  Roemhildt was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The crash report says both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the patrol.
