A Mankato man, Christopher Daniel Hawkinson, age 40, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony receiving stolen property from an incident earlier this year.

According to court records, on April 21 the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was informed of a vehicle reported stolen in Garvin had been spotted at a residence in Belview.

After a variety of law enforcement agencies arrived, a Redwood County deputy spoke to the owner of the residence, who stated someone named Chris had arrived in that vehicle. When the deputy entered the residence and spoke to Hawkinson, he denied driving the vehicle.

The deputy next spoke with a second witness, who stated she had arrived in the vehicle, and that Hawkinson was the driver. The keys to the stolen car were located in Hawkinson’s coat pocket.

On August 21, Hawkinson was sentenced to 13 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, 30 days local confinement, three years supervised probation, and fees and fines of $485.
