Mankato Playhouse to livestream show for benefit of COVID-19 fund

(Mankato, MN) – Theaters are closed, but the show will go on at the Mankato Playhouse, and it will benefit the community.

The playhouse will livestream its ‘Community Cabaret’ show live on its Facebook page Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Donations made during the show will benefit the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, a collaborative initiative of the Greater Mankato Area United Way and the Mankato Area Foundation.

Mankato Playhouse co-founder David Holmes and board president/actor Matthew Atwood will host the family-friendly show, which features performers from the Mankato area and beyond.

The interactive show will give the audience getting the opportunity to vote for their favorite performance.

Holmes and Atwood said in a joint statement that the performers would record their performances from home in order to practice social distancing.
