Mankato restaurant group offering $15 minimum wage

A Mankato restaurant group will offer a $15 minimum wage, the company announced Tuesday

Mankato Independent Originals will guarantee a $15 per hour minimum for all non-tipped employees.  The group owns a number of Mankato restaurants and bars, including Number 4, Tav on the Ave, Flask Bar, and Dino’s Pizzeria.

“MIO understands how essential each and every employee is, and we hope higher wages will allow our staff members to have more flexibility and less stress in their lives,” says a press release from the company.

The release says the restaurant group strives to be an example in a push towards a higher living wage.
