Mayo building $10 million radiology facility at Madison East

Mayo Clinic will invest more than $10 million into building a new radiology center at the Madison East complex.

The new outpatient facility will include upgraded X-ray and tomography equipment, as well as new imaging machines. The location will be rebranded as Mayo Clinic Health System ― Madison East Health Center.

Most outpatient radiology services are currently performed at the Mankato hospital.  The off-campus radiology facility at Madison East will allow hospital staff to focus resources on emergency medicine and hospital patients.

“Demand for radiology and advanced imaging services has increased dramatically,” says James Hebl, regional Vice President of Mayo’s Southwest Minnesota Region.  Hebl says the new facility will allow for timely, efficient care, and decreased patient cost.

The project includes significant upgrades to the Madison East building exterior, including the entrance and building facade.

The facility is expected to open in January 2022.
