Minnesota airmen shot down flying object over Lake Huron

The airmen who shot down a flying object over Lake Huron Sunday were based out of Duluth.

Governor Tim Walz says the 148th Fighter Wing was part of the federal mission.

It was the fourth object shot down in U.S. airspace over the last several days.

I’m proud of the airmen in the @148FW, based out of Duluth, who earlier today took off from Madison, WI to shoot down a flying object over Lake Huron as part of a federal mission. The Bulldogs executed their mission flawlessly, protected the homeland, and got the birds home safe.
