Minnesota Senate passes marijuana legalization bill

The Minnesota Senate voted Friday to legalize recreational marijuana in Minnesota in its first vote ever on the issue.

The bill passed 34-33, will all Democrats voting “yes,” and all Republicans voting “no.”

Both the House and the Senate bills will now go to a committee that will reconcile the two into a final bill.

Governor Tim Walz says he will sign the bill if it reaches his desk.
