Update: No travel advisory lifted

Update: MnDOT lifted the no-travel advisory at 9 a.m.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising no unnecessary travel on several stretches of southern Minnesota roadways due to high winds and blowing snow, which is causing reduced visibility.

The no-travel advisory includes:

  • Highway 4 from Sleepy Eye to Fairfax
  • Highway 68 from Highway 4 to Morgan
  • Highway 14 from Sanborn to Sleepy Eye

“No travel advised” means that the roadway has deteriorated, poor visibility is making travel very dangerous, reports of whiteout conditions, and weather conditions severe enough to diminish the effectiveness of road treatments such as salt or sand.
