Motorcyclist injured after striking fallen tree

(Mankato, MN) – A motorcyclist was injured Saturday after his bike struck a fallen tree in Nicollet County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Luke Daniel Hein, 22, of Mankato, was southbound on Highway 169 between Le Sueur and St. Peter when his Triumph motorcycle struck a tree that had fallen into the roadway.

The state patrol’s crash report said Hein had attempted to stop, but crashed and suffered non-life threatening injuries.  The crash happened just before 4 p.m.

Hein was wearing a helmet.
