MPCA issues air quality alert

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for much of Minnesota, which includes Blue Earth and Nicollet counties.

MPCA says heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires is drifting into Minnesota due to northern winds and is expected to remain in the area through Wednesday.

The alert is effective until Thursday, July 22 at 6 a.m.
