(Mankato, MN) – Minnesota State University Mankato will recognize National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week with several events on campus.

A food collection has been organized for Monday, Nov 18 through Friday, Nov 22 by the University Fraternity and Sorority Life organization.  The collection will benefit the Campus Kitchen at MSU.  Donations can be made at food collection boxes placed around campus.

Wednesday, Nov 20 the film “The Public” will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Taylor Center, Room 080.  The showing is free.  The film focuses on a group of people who are homeless in the greater Cincinnati area.

Overnight on Friday, Nov 22 to Sat, Nov 23 is the Annual Homelessness Awareness Sleep Out.  The event begins at 8 p.m. Friday and is open to MSU students interested in learning more about homelessness, including participating in a brief homelessness experience.
