(Lake Crystal, MN) – An eighty-four spot childcare center will open in Lake Crystal next spring.

The Little Lakers Early Learning Center will be located in what is currently the main office of the Crystal Valley Cooperative.  The center will serve children from ages 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten.

The cooperative will move its main office to Mankato later this year.

Little Lakers is a non-profit organization formed after a First Children’s Finance study that found there were approximately up to 105 children in the area without childcare.

The boards of directors from Crystal Valley and Little Lakers are currently finalizing the sale of the building.  Renovations are expected to begin in January, with doors opening in spring.

The organization is fundraising to cover start-up costs, including building renovations, playground equipment, classroom furnishings, and curriculum.  For information, contact Dean at (507) 381-2924 or Dina at (507) 351-4333.

To be added to the center’s waiting list, contact Devin Moline by email, or at (507) 327-7878.
