New Jail Diversion Project Focuses on Mental Health, Addiction

(Mankato, MN) – Blue Earth County officials will give an update on Monday on the development of what they call a new groundbreaking jail diversion pilot program.

Known as the “Yellow Line Project,”  the project focuses on helping legally involved individuals who also have mental health or chemical health problems.

The goal is to maintain a high level of personal accountability for those with legal troubles, while at the same time encouraging healthy choices to reduce future consequences.

Monday’s community stakeholder presentation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the historic Blue Earth County Courthouse.
