NWS: Coldest wind chill values in the state (so far)

(Mankato, MN) – The National Weather Service issued a report of the coldest wind chill values in the state of Minnesota between Tuesday and Wednesday.
NWS posted the report, which spans 24 hours of observations, at 6:53 a.m. Wednesday. Volunteer weather observers help the agency collect data. NWS says the agency also used a “variety of sources with varying equipment and exposures.”
Southern Minnesota was well represented in the top 20, with Ellendale, Winthrop, Madelia, and New Ulm all cracking the -60 wind chill value mark. Fairmont and Mankato bottomed out at a wind chill value of -59.
