President Joe Biden will visit Minnesota Tuesday to promote his $1 trillion infrastructure package.

It’s Biden’s first visit to the state since he was elected president.  He’ll make a stop at Dakota Technical College in Rosemount, the White House announced Sunday.  No other details about his trip are yet available.

The White House projected Minnesota will receive $4.5 billion for highways, $800 million for public transportation, and about $300 million for bridges over a five-year span.  The state is also expected to get funding for broadband internet expansion, electric vehicle charging stations, water treatment facilities, and improvements at airports.

Five of Minnesota’s six democratic congressional representatives voted for the bill, which was signed into law earlier this month.  None of the state’s four House Republicans voted for the package.
