Public defender appointed to Third Judicial District

A public defender has been appointed to fill a vacancy in Minnesota’s Third Judicial District.

Governor Tim Walz appointed Natalie Martinez as District Court Judge last week.  She’ll be chambered in Austin, in Mower County.

Martinez is an associate attorney and a part-time public defender in Freeborn County.  She’s also a Mower County conciliation court referee.

Martinez will fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Kevin Lund.
