Rally against white supremacy planned as city announces neo-Nazi sticker removal

Mankato city staff are removing pro-neo-Nazism stickers from traffic lights.

An announcement from the city says the stickers do not align with the values of the community and asks residents to report graffiti.

Local social justice group Indivisible St. Peter Mankato had planned to hold an event to remove the stickers, but instead will hold a rally against white supremacy on Sunday.

The group is also planning a Justice for Daunte Wright rally tonight on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge.

Wright is a 20-year-old black man who was shot by police in Brooklyn Center yesterday afternoon. The death comes midway through the trial of Derek Chauvin, the ex-Minneapolis police officer who is accused of killing George Floyd in Minneapolis nearly a year ago.
