Reports of shots fired in Washington Park area early Thursday

Mankato police are investigating multiple reports of shots fired in the Washington Park area early Thursday morning.

Mankato Public Safety responded at 12:11 a.m. April 20 to North 4th and Washington streets for the sound of gunshots.

Officers couldn’t find anyone in the area but did recover shell casings from a .40 caliber handgun.

The investigation is ongoing.
