(Faribault, MN) – An investigation is underway in Rice County after a man was found dead in a field near his vehicle Sunday.

The Rice County Sheriff says the victim was 44-year-old David Amundson of New Prague.  Amundson was found near 30th Street West and Halstad Avenue in Wheatland Township.

There were no signs of foul play, according to the sheriff’s office, but the investigation is ongoing.

The Rice County Sheriff was assisted at the scene by the Scott County Sheriff, Elko-New Market Police and Fire Departments, Lonsdale Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and North Memorial Ambulance.
