Scam Alert: Phishing Email Targets Netflix Subscribers

(Mankato, MN) – Don’t click that link!  Netflix subscribers in southern Minnesota are among the millions who have received scam emails phishing for personal information.

The emails claim a person’s membership is on hold or going to be suspended and it includes a link to an official looking page where you can “validate your billing information.”

Netflix says it may email you to ask you to update your personal information with a link to it’s website, “but be cautious of fake emails that may link to phishing websites.”

Netflix says if you’re unsure about a link in an email, you can always hover your cursor over the link to see where it directs in which you can see the real linked web address at the bottom of most browsers.
