Dump truck driver faces misdemeanor charges in crash that killed Madison Lake teen

A dump truck driver faces criminal charges in a crash that killed a Madison Lake teen last year.

Aaron Rudolph Kisor, 34, was charged last week in Blue Earth County Court with “failing to stop for a stop sign” and “failing to stop at the entrance of a through highway,” both misdemeanors.

The crash occurred on the afternoon of Sept 12 on Highway 14 at Blue Earth Co Rd 17 near Eagle Lake. A state patrol crash report says Kisor was behind the wheel of a Sterling dump truck that was eastbound on Highway 14 when it collided with a westbound Nissan.

Sixteen-year-old Gabriela Rose Hebl, who was driving the Nissan, was airlifted from the crash scene with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Witnesses told crash investigators that Kisor failed to stop at an enhanced stop sign as he turned to exit onto northbound Co Rd 17 from eastbound Highway 14.  One witness said the truck “tried to shoot between a couple of cars.”

Crash reconstruction determined Kisor was going about 25 mph at the time of the crash and failed to stop at the stop sign, according to the complaint.
